Last month marked the beginning of what will be a remarkable intergenerational project between my Stetson Shutterbugs and participants at NewCourtland Senior Center in Germantown. This 10-week project will pair each of my students with a senior at the center in a photography-based collaboration whose results will be based on a process of investigation, appreciation, and mutual respect by the participants. This project was made possible by a fellowship from The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) and NewCourtland. Much more to come!

In November I will be having a two-person show alongside good friend and fellow Light Room member Ranjoo Prasad at the Light Room Gallery, located at 2024 Wallace St. The show is called Two Cultures, and I will feature new work that focuses mainly on the rural village of La Florida, Colombia, whose people are beginning to lose touch with their farming traditions. Ranjoo will be showing work from her last trip to her native India. The opening reception will be Sat. Nov. 5th from 5 – 9PM and there will also be a closing reception on Fri. Dec. 2nd from 5 -9PM.
Proceeds from sales of my work go to support my outreach programs in Colombia and Stetson Charter School here in Philadelphia.
